The possibility that the US broke US and international laws when Trump took unilateral action against Venezuela by use of US military force on January 3, 2026 involving the capture and removal from Venezuela of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife is at present being debated and discussed in US Congress and the United Nations. Whether the "end justified the means" does not include the future possibility that other nations would not assume similar authoritarian decisions based upon the latest Trump actions, paving the way for justifying "winning wars" simply by uses of military forces and kidnapping or apprehending sitting world leaders no matter or for whatever culpable reasons existing.

The irony is that this Trump-led action took place within days after US Congress voted upon preventions of granting Trump war powers involving invading Venezuela, which LOST in a GOP majority vote by a slim margin in the US Senate. By losing, US Congress can be said to have inadvertantly permitted Trump to take actions, unilaterally or otherwise, involving US military operating against Venezuela.

Question: Do House Legislators Still Know How to "Kill the Bill"?

Stopping Stupid Legislation From Becoming US Law: Killing the Bills Involving Proposed and Abrupt, Objectionable Political and Legal Changes in US Congress.

For all of you one-sided political observers in the US who have followed current US trends in partisan politics, policies and political arguments, this commentary is for you. It is still possible to practice bipartisanship in US Congress! There aren’t any laws about cooperating that way against stupid legislation written by self-absorbed inexperienced legislators -elected officials, but not having enough practical background knowledge about or active communication with their own constituencies or worse, are completely inattentive to them. In today’s US Congress, the “trifecta” involved, where one party dominates all three branches of lawmaking, otherwise known as a majority party Congress, the GOP Republicans have just a slight 2% edge over Democrats in both the House and Senate and the President is a Republican. But realistically, people, how can any group of well-educated, well-informed US voters not take into account severe consequences of sticking only to one (set of) political party line(s) of one personally disagrees with the results of that party’s objectives, when they start to either become nonsensical or impractical at any and/or all levels of US government? Bipartisanship answers that question, and despite possible beliefs that any elected US House representative or USSenator might have about risking re-election wins by voting for the opposite side, and even when only one party holds the Congressional majority, it is still bipartisanship and statecraft that can save the day! If, for example, a Republican Congressperson were to vote Democrat instead, in a House vote where new GOP legislators have written a new bill that authorizes a President to enable the US military to cancel all EV use in support of previous legislation created by the same group of legislators who enabled by partisan voting to end US government EV use amongst government agencies institutions and building use by US Executive Order (impossible) or IS Presidential mandate (also impossible). In short, a stupid idea leading to a stupid law enabling more stupid laws.

Bipartisanship voting against such bills could effectively "kill the bill" (ending continuance of the bill passing through Congress) in the US House before that bill reaches the Senate floor for another vote by the Senate, and well before it reaches the US President for signage into law. But, keeping track of new legislation coming from the US House of Representatives-or for that matter, approving or vetoing Executive Orders coming from the US President by US Congress isn’t an easy task, because that whole studied effort is a tedious affair, what with all of the heavy reading and legal interpretations involved! Just like voter booklets and pamphlets issued by the Voter Registration and Elections office in your home town or home city, provide information about incumbent and new candidates for local and national political office, new proposed bills, proposals for local civic actions and State funding as well as explanations for and against all of the above are included within publicly accessible US House bill proposals for interested voters to access and read about per US State, and for the US Senate, also in national US Senate filings once you know where to look. All of that is an important part of single voters participating by vote in US lawmaking, and not only having elected officials rule from one party or another in any partisan way on your behalf without you letting them know what you think about that! (And let’s face that. You should have already learned how to do that from High School US American Government class(es).) No wonder reading homework assignments in Language Arts and English classes are deemed so important while you are growing up and attending school in the USA!

The way that the US Constitution was designed, involves the innate ability of the Legislative and/or Executive Branches of government to veto new legislation that does not meet the majority votes necessary to pass both the House and Senate to be signed into law by the President, and the President also has veto power if he.she doesn't want any legislative bill that reaches his/her desk to be enacted into US Law. So the potential laws of the country are scrutinized, studied, discussed, described, criticized and voted upon, by both the House of Representatives and then the Senate if the House passes that, and if the Senate clears, is sent to the President, finally for signage or veto. This process is typically repeated if the legislation needs more work in order to pass any new US law and takes time! To conclude, any legislative bill that cannot clear a House vote is automatically killed and the same for any bill that cannot clear the Senate. That process is time tested and has lasted successfully for close to 250 years.

Are Increasingly Far-Right Politics and More Frequent Displays of Public Rightist Extremism in the West a Painful Mistake?

Fascism has certain characteristic patterns of "governance" and was a key development of Italian leadership during the years after WWI and reaching a climactic peak just prior to WWII. Led by Benito Mussolini, Fascists proceeded to promote a strong Italian national unity and the need for the individual to follow and contribute to the needs of the country. The needs were, of course, defined primarily by the Fascist party and Mussolini. The word "fascism" has its etymological origins in the Italian word "fascio" which is from the Latin "fasces" which means "bundle" or "group". The symbol for Mussolini's Italian Fascist Party was a bundle of sticks wrapped around an axe. The idea of the symbol was to bring internally conflicted political parties at that time in Italy under the direct control of Dictator Mussolini and his Fascist political party for the good of Italy. The party had very "right-wing" political and social perspectives and their resultant government believed in an ultra-strong nationalism, dictatorship, violent suppression of dissent and subordination of the individual to the State. As history has proven, there are extraordinary flaws in this form of governance, and the end of political fascism in Italy came when the Italian partisan communist and socialist anti-government rebels eventually deposed -and killed-Mussolini, his mistress and her family while the Italian leader was fleeing Italy for the Alps near the end of WWII.

Today, it is generally believed that fascism as a type and style of government died with Mussolini. But there are oddly frightening new socio-political developments within the latest US leadership that immediately bring to mind the basic tenets of fascist operations within US government and fascist beliefs from within the current US American voting public that aren't defined or labeled as such but display the same characteristic patterns of a strongly fascist US societal trend. Consider the following US government events and collective US socio-political directions:

Ultranationalist MAGA and America First movements that successfully ran US Presidential campaigns with the GOP based upon the belief that the US was a victim of foreign economies and recent immigrants.

Trump's statements about being "a dictator" during his first few weeks in office.

Mass US deportations of illegal immigrants and migrant workers in the first months of Trump's Presidency.

Mass government firings of US federal workers numbering in the thousands by a single agency overseen and managed by Trump and his appointed "government efficiency special employee" Elon Musk.

Trump's many absolute, personal takeovers of the oversight of independent US federal agencies, including those of law enforcement, investigation and border control, while assuming and exercising broad, personal and executive authority over Congress and making decisions about the way federal cases should be prosecuted, and who should be prosecuted, and demanding sole authority for establishing universal and extremely high US tariffs against countries without due cause, as well as threatening impeachments of federal judges who rule against him.

Trump assuming executive authority over the Smithsonian Museums and cultural displays therein, museums which are funded by Congress and US taxpayers and operated by Congress under a trust established by an English-American scientist over 100 years ago for educational purposes.

Trump applying the imposition of "Executive authority" using specious and questionable explanations for conducting the replacing of the Chair and board members of the Kennedy Center for the Arts, a national institution supported by private donations and US Congress funding allocations.

Trump receiving a new Boeing 747 airplane from Qatar as a "gift" and then experiencing the normal objections from Congress in regards to federal laws regarding emoluments from other countries and their illegality as determined by Congress.

Trump using his position as US President to promote a cryptocurrency internationally that is owned by his family and then overtly ruling in favor of new US cryptocurrency legislation that he himself created for authorizations in Congress using "executive orders", potentially violating US laws pertaining to acceptable legal forms of US currency and US Security and Exchange Commission rules involving insider trading laws.

Changing existing US Civil Rights laws involving Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by forcefully ordering them by Executive Orders to be deemed illegitimate and prejudicial, and then banning their use in US Government , military and education all throughout the US and minor territories and internationally at various and all US Embassy offices.

Ordering federal investigations into previous political opponents including FBI leaders, US Federal Judges and US Prosecution Attorneys who contradicted Trump's policies and established the basis for criminal investigations involving Trump's actions, including elections interference, obstructions of justice and incitements to riot involving the Jan. 6 Capitol Riots both before and during his first term from 2016-2020 as US President.

Trump, the US Secretary of Defense, the US Secretary of State and the Agencies of the Department of Homeland Security and US Border Control using US military forces to occupy and control criminal activity in US cities against US laws, and against their national military and department missions, and to destroy without warning or substantial evidence Venezuelan maritime vessels operating in international waters inside of Venezuelan EEZ zones accused by Trump of containing illicit drugs and "Narco-trafficking gang members" bound for the US.

The emerging patterns of Trump's leadership lead several political science observers to believe that Trump himself is a fascist leader. Trump's well-known public attempts to blame US Democrats for all of the societal problems that the US is experiencing is characteristic of typically fascist demonizations of political opponents by the "dictatorship's leader". Also, Trump's consistent scapegoating of previous US President Biden, who Trump believes "stole" an election win from Trump in 2020, is an imaginary circumstance which Trump constantly uses to excuse himself from blame or responsibility from both the Jan. 6 Capitol Riots as well as his mass firings of US Federal workers from every federal agency including librarians, archivists, forest rangers, health officials, independent federal oversight and advisory committees and even military admirals and generals. Fascists during Mussolini's leadership violently suppressed and arrested political dissenters, and Hitler, Chancellor of Nazi Germany also initially praised and imitated Mussolini's starting attempts at strict governmental control of the masses in Italy using media and government sponsored propaganda techniques -and outright lies-against political rivals and dissident populations of their own nationals both before and during WWII.

The questions this author asks are "Does the right-wing conservative movement in the US today know what the tenets of fascism are all about ?" And "Is the present-day USA living unwittingly under an undeclared fascist-led government?" Finally, "How long can it be before people in the US reach that public conclusion?" And, subjectively, "Can any such abuse, travesty and atrocity of leadership in US government be easily repaired back to a recognizable US democracy, even with a changeover in dominant political parties from within the US"?

The Great Mistake of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine and A Denial of True Russian Culture and Perspectives in the Republic of Russia.

Russia beware! That should be a new slogan in the West and maybe too in the East as political forces join hands in opposition to the invasion of Ukraine by Russian military in the early 2020's. Becoming more wary of overseas wars, ongoing armed conflicts and many and sordid fears of many consequences seriously effecting more and spreading injuries and fatalities throughout the world as a result, today's generations of youth are fed up with fighting and dying for any cause, even in active defense of their own nation! Peace is the answer, they say repeatedly, to the point even of taking protests to churches, synagogues, temples and museums. Place of worship, art conservatories, public government buildings and universities have all experienced the true nature of the new generation and their collective messages. In so many words, peace, often by active resistance and non-violence to authority, is the intended and oft-times unstated or understated desires of the active mob.

As places, times, people and events move forward unto the new century, a massive awareness of the evils of war, effectiveness of peace and utter and absolute needs for peace efforts to win the days ahead not only make common sense, but are time-proven to maintain as well as defend life throughout this Earth, the small blue white brown and green sphere orbiting the Sun that is the only planet we have to live on and the only one people have searched the universe for that supports any sort of life! Yes, people everywhere, life on Earth is that important.

Knowing that and believing that severe mistakes in assumptions, intelligence, foresight and planning weren't made by Russia at the very start of the Russian war against Ukraine is foolhardy. And in the West, points can be made in policy, opinions, dinner conversations! And even during discussions in private and in public involves several world opinions that Russia has a lot of explaining to do when it comes to justifying the need to send 300k Russian troops into Ukraine while supposedly attempting to "liberate" two largely Russian-speaking Eastern Ukrainian regions. That particular focal point of armed conflicts between Russian-armed separatists and Ukraine and Russia happened during the 1990's-early 2000's and even resulted in the downing of a civilian airliner en route from Malaysia, flying into Ukraine, killing all people aboard. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people have died in the war in Ukraine, both Ukrainian civilians and military as well as Russian military.

Does this armed conflict have any predictable end? Can the active participants in the war ever stop fighting and perhaps agree on an armistice? Can Ukraine and Russia declare a stalemate, withdraw from the affected regions Donetsk and Luhansk and declare them to be independent republics, neither Russian or Ukrainian? Can the two regions decide for themselves the best courses of actions for their own peoples, despite the Russian occupation and Ukrainian liberation war? And if so, what type and/or kind of government would be best suited for them, actively and defensively?

Safety Engineering, Designing Safety Measures in Early Ed.

The United States has an ongoing problem with violence against and/or involving children, violent crime in general, and desensitized US citizens and legal immigrants who cannot avoid the apparently growing lack of personal safety in their own circumstances and living environments. The schools where the children of the US attend are today critically enabled by local and State law enforcement protocols. Coming by and from the new public schools' national needs for teaching about and addressing the recent possibilities of onsite mass casualty events, PTSD-related disaster event traumas and psychological and therapeutic counseling disparities from US State to US State, safety drills of the 21st century are perhaps more complicated than ones routinely administered for students and faculty during the late 20th. In addition to important school safety issues are family management problems at home that are becoming increasingly more common, up to and including armed parents, single or partnered parents, domestic violence, divorces happening between parents who have grade school kids, and/or parents who have a criminal past or are at present incarcerated, or who are already engaged in criminal activities.

In all of the above cases, US national law enforcement statistics provide accurate and timely data about the dangers involved in dealing with and managing various interpersonal personality risk factors such as those mentioned when educating children in public schools. That is where, objectively speaking, children coming from such environments are more disproportionately and more likely to engage in potentially lethal or violent attacks against innocent people with whom they attend school, or promote antisocial behavior in school and maybe threaten violent behavior inside and outside of school in the absence of any perceived provocations whether real or imagined.

Charlie Kirk's Assassination and Societal Fallout.

"Podcaster and Professional US Debater Charlie Kirk has been assassinated at a Utah University minutes into one of his speeches." The news about Charlie Kirk's shooting and death while at a speaking function rang out immediately within news broadcasts, social media posts, various US political parties, and even colleges and universities within the US where the initial public reactions included stunned silence, angry social responses, compassionate yet fearful reactions from his followers, and strong criticisms from his many detractors. Who was this man, and why and how did he generate so much public attention in the US, Asia and the UK? Let's look at Mr. Kirk's personal beliefs, his statements in public, his "Professor Watchlist" and his right-leaning brand of social conservatism, together with his educational level and background, his age, his popularity amongst university and college undergraduates, as well as the times and places and the various socio-political circumstances encompassing what he debated about and spoke of during his time with his business-led and conservative-oriented incorporated debate movement.

Charlie Kirk had an interesting personal background to begin with. A college dropout at age 19, he attended one semester at an online university and left there, deciding to run his own business. Turning Point USA, a startup corporation which he founded and that became his work, involved questions and answers at public speaking events within which he debated attendees, professing to knowledge that was not actually in any way authoritative, but appeared to be opinions-only based, and quite informative. He was popular mostly among undergraduates attending colleges and universities where he held his speaking events, and was quite well-known for his speaking style, which was very convincing to observers, but to his detractors, people who were aware of his lack of higher education, he was dangerous, misleading and unnecessarily argumentative, attempting to justify the latest Republican-led US anti-DEI Trump movement and even bringing up his own opinions at public speaking events which were somewhat aggressive and agitating, and he spoke against established US laws and equality for everyone, contrary to Trump and the GOP's opinions of Charlie Kirk being a bastion and tireless hard working example of free speech. A well-known university event showed him answering a question from a student about Mr. Kirk's publicly stated automatic distrust of Black airline pilots, because he believed they were "DEI" hires and weren't necessarily as "qualified" as White pilots. When pressed by the student to account for his belief based upon facts that every pilot flying an airplane had to go through the same training programs and complete the same tests, Mr. Kirk asked the students "why there weren't as many Black airline pilots as White airline pilots?" and then proceeded to "inform" the students that the reason so many Blacks were professional basketball players was that Blacks were superior to Whites at basketball playing-and by the same reasoning, inferring without actually saying so that White pilots were superior to Black pilots who "needed DEI" to become pilots, and therefore weren't considered by him to have achieved the same standards that White pilots had because of the Civil Rights movement lowering those standards. Poor Charlie! Apparently he was unaware that Blacks were segregated from Whites in the US until around 1957 and that US Civil Rights laws sought to integrate Black communities of previous generations of enslaved people into the US civil societies inasmuch as humanly possible! Ongoing public prejudices and active violent attacks against Black people in the United States during that time period by White supremacists such as the KKK and other criminal Whites-only "Americans" -white people who killed Black men and women and children while burning Black housing communities -and Christian crosses-simply because they wanted an America that was White, conservative and "Christian" and could not tolerate differences to that idea.....one that today in the 21st century seems insane as well as outright ludicrous, because of higher education, active human participation in the whole of US populations, and generally an awareness by the US public today that perceived the damages of the US Civil War as something from the past, and not for the future of the country. But, Charlie Kirk's free speech was certainly protected, even if, from this writer's point of view, he wrongly and irresponsibly spoke about the differences between races among undergraduate young adults at an American university. In effect, he simply came across to higher educated adults as racist and clownish in his attempts at argument and debate especially as he didn't really know anything about the subjects he discussed outside of having a high school education, and attempted to win arguments against student populations-and well-educated adults-about facts which are already established and not subject to change.

Charlie's misfortune is that as a grown man, at 31 years old, he was trying to procure and profess an alternative US national history-one that maybe he believed could account for the defense of his own impressions of US civil society and laws which he perceived as somehow "Anti-White". Unfortunately for him, however, while subjected to the same rigorous study and testing applied to all college and university undergraduate students attending within the USA .....he dropped out of college. He then proceeded to blame Jewish people for "controlling everything" such as news media, education and government, while apparently putting his point of view freely into the open, in his public speaking, which caused many of his followers to leave him behind as they pursued their own courses of active undergraduate study.

His ability to proceed using his own unique style of "fair approach" types and kinds of debating while speaking at his numerous publicly held events speaks highly of his organizational and management skills. But I believe that many of his original followers started to perceive that his was an effort to portray his own points of view as the truth using unsatisfactory forms of evidence while challenging his listeners to change his mind or to convince him that their own knowledge could change his perception or even his mind about current and past events that he was speaking about. Surprisingly, that style seemed maybe to emulate the popular political events involving US leadership and Presidential candidate debates that were happening at around the same time as his public US speaking events being held at colleges and universities all over the country.

In conclusion, I am looking at the conversations, events, and maybe even forthcoming childrens' stories to come, about an American man who held fast to his own beliefs, whether deemed by the general public as right or wrong, and who asked a lot of his listeners while perhaps making them extremely uncomfortable by introducing them to his beliefs and challenging them in many instances to question their own, and died at the hands of a self-confessed assassin at a higher education speaking event while defending his opponents' rights to argue against him, and despite his own sometimes weak or arguable formats of self-defense. Whether for right or wrong reasons, Charlie Kirk will be remembered and posthumously written as a man who died unexpectedly at the hands of another man, both of whom were coming from a unique time in US history.

Does US President Trump have ideologically similar friends in political action groups overseas? News media reports from North and South Korea, Germany, Italy and the UK point out many factions of people who tend to agree with Trump's "America First "and "Make America Great Again" slogans, but reflect that image onto their own societies and nationalities in much the same way that NATO once followed US military styles of warfare and combat operations and strategic structures until Trump started pulling US troops out of Europe in 2025. Are these simultaneous events and newly emerging socio-political-neo-military structures part of a new mainly Trump-inspired social design, or merely random parts of a predictable, generationally stylistic series of political coincidences?

Is what US President Trump and the US Department of Education received monetarily from several US universities in order to expedite already approved Congressional university funding a type or kind of executive-level extortion? That question is being asked at liberal AND conservative US colleges and universities by legal scholars as the DOE collects hundreds of millions of university dollars from private and public universities that were forced-or rather, "encouraged" -to pay money to the Trump Administration as per Trump's demands in order to receive timely already-approved US Federal funding in 2025 for the purposes of "preferential treatment" because Trump had accused them of "anti-semitism" and "violations of DEI and Title IX laws" which were never substantiated by Trump and for which reasons Trump impounded education funding to the order of hundreds of millions of USD. Individual lawsuits per university are pending actions in 2026 and it will be interesting to see whether or not the universities that decided to pay Trump will be reimbursed by the US -and maybe even Trump impeached-for interfering unjustifiably with normal US funding operations to already-approved universities in the US and that were already following established US civil rights and education laws prior to Trump's executive order. That particular Trump demand affecting DEI in US education policies-which haven't yet officially cleared US Congress or SCOTUS, by the way-attempted to completely eliminate established US federal laws with the stroke of Trump's Presidential pen. Well, the creating of the laws of the US require more than just Trump's personal signature, and this editor is waiting for the final results of that whole series of unfortunate circumstances involving higher education in the United States of America!

Celebrating victory after winning the Mayorship of New York City in the November US Elections, Former NY State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani has promised to introduce rent freezes, new city-owned grocery stores within the 5 NY City boroughs (neighborhoods), free NYC busses and universal NYC childcare. His is an ambitious but realistic attempt to address the social crises that have existed in NYC for decades, and he also has pointed out direct opposition o Trump's national policies. Trump has said he would limit or end US funding to NYC if Mahmdani won, but that is strictly an issue for US Congress and not singularly Trump to decide, for whatever reasons. Mahmdani is in a good position to effectively defend NYC against Trump's political rhetoric and public statements to the contrary of New York's many citizens and their various need and wants and helping deal with poor and suffering New Yorkers is only part of Mumdani's plans of action as Mayor.

Currently, New York City is undergoing noticeable and progressive civic changes, such as the changeover from Metro cards on public transportation to credit/debit card payments or phones directly to the transit provider, by tapping the card or device upon entry, but questions about senior discounts and child fares remain. And, NYC private agencies describe changes that have taken place since 2016 that are being addressed by Mahmdani as his leadership becomes an important part of the City's operations during his mayorship.

The Coming Overhaul of American Health Insurance.

After US Congress voted along a narrow margin to end Affordable Care Act health care tax subsidies which substantially lowered health insurance costs for all Americans since the US Presidency of Barack Obama, US Americans are at present faced with the nightmarish prospects of not being able to afford health insurance starting in the year 2026. Objectively speaking, GOP Republicans who have followed Trumps' design for health insurance options are following a pre-Trump health insurance subsidy pattern which might actually be a carryover attempt from the previous Bush Jr. Administration to perceive health care insurance availability and subsequent costs as similar to auto insurance, including cost-wise. That perception, as well as the ones following below, proved to be a false one. The writing on the walls is below:

When the GOP decided to end ACA subsidies in 2025, they had no actual plans to deal with the expected transitions and fallout for US Americans benefiting from the subsidies.

As the US government stalled in 2025 after agreements about continuing ACA or not, the GOP US House Speaker placed the House of Representatives on special recess for 2 months, while US Senators were forced to deal with legislation action after legislation action without a working House.

GOP President Trump not only attempted to indefinitely block SNAP food payments to eligible and enrolled participants while the government was shut down, but threatened to withhold SNAP funding to US States on the condition of US States submitting private SNAP enrollee data to the Federal government, violating both State and US Federal laws involving SNAP functions and management.

GOP leaders repeatedly and wholeheartedly blamed Democrats for permitting enrollment of illegal aliens into Medicaid benefits, which in the final analysis was a completely false accusation.

Despite their national expense, US Democrats were the leaders responsible for generally affordable healthcare insurance costs for all US Americans starting in the Administration of former US President Obama. (Obama's going away statement after the end of his terms of "You'll miss me" turned out to be slightly prophetic.)

I am compelled to believe that any new overhaul work done to once again make US health insurance affordable will again be the continued work of talented caring and compassionate mainly US Democrats and highly qualified medical doctors, US hospital and insurance groups as well as a new series of leaderships to be elected in 2026 during midterms. Unfortunately, the GOP has not shown any real accuracy, compassion or true care for their own constituencies in many instances during 2025, and in fact actually the opposite of that, that my own faith in their majority trifecta leadership has been shaken to the core, and again, many times throughout the entire and whole year.
